Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old and speak English fluently
  • You have a medium (1–3 cm) or large (3–5 cm) full-thickness rotator cuff tear in the supraspinatus tendon, with minimal retraction
  • Your tear shows limited fatty degeneration (Goutallier grade 0–2) on MRI
  • You are scheduled for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with biceps tenodesis (biceps tendon repair)
  • You have not had prior surgery on the same shoulder
  • You do not have frozen shoulder, significant shoulder arthritis, or worker's compensation status
