  • Age 18–65 years old
  • Fatty liver confirmed by MRI scan (at least 10% fat in liver) within last 3 months
  • Type 2 diabetes diagnosis with blood sugar control managed only by diet and exercise for at least 3 months
  • BMI (body mass index) between 30–45 kg/m²
  • Recent blood work showing normal liver, kidney, and blood cell counts; no hepatitis, HIV, or certain infections
  • Willing to keep diet and exercise consistent, take medication as directed, and check blood sugar regularly
