  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a BMI (body mass index, a measure of weight relative to height) between 30–50, OR between 27–30 with a weight-related health condition like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, or sleep apnea
  • Not have diabetes
  • Not have lost more than 5% of body weight or taken weight-loss medications in the past 12 weeks
  • Not have had or be planning to have weight-loss surgery
  • Agree to use contraception if capable of pregnancy, and not be pregnant or breastfeeding
