Who can take part
- Your digestive or gut cancer (stomach, pancreas, colon, etc.) must be completely gone and you must have finished cancer treatment at least 12 weeks ago
- Your platelet count must be very low (below 30,000) or require blood transfusions to stay safe
- Low platelets must have persisted since your last chemotherapy without clear improvement on their own
- You must have tried at least one other platelet-raising medicine for at least 2 weeks without success
- Recent bone marrow test (within 1 year) must show no cancer cells and normal or high platelet-producing cells
- You cannot have other blood disorders, active cancer, severe organ disease, or active serious infections
