Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You are scheduled for elective (planned, not emergency) isolated CABG surgery with saphenous vein grafting
  • You have no known blood-clotting disorders or conditions that would make regional anesthesia unsafe
  • You are not currently taking anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medications that would prevent the nerve block
  • You have no allergy to local anesthetic medications
  • You do not have a chronic pain condition or are not on long-term opioid medications
