Who can take part
- Age 18 or older
- Type 2 diabetes AND early-stage kidney disease (stage G1-3a) with protein in urine
- BMI of 25 or higher (overweight or obese category)
- Currently taking metformin at a stable dose for at least 3 months
- Taking blood pressure medication (ACE inhibitor or ARB)
- Fluent in Dutch and able to follow a structured diet plan
- Of White European Dutch or South Asian Surinamese descent
