Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 80 years old
- Have chronic liver disease (hepatitis B, fatty liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, or other chronic liver disease) that needs a liver biopsy
- Be able to tolerate an endoscopic procedure (a camera-guided tube passed down your throat)
- Have blood clotting levels within safe range for biopsy (platelet count above 50, normal clotting time)
- Not have advanced cirrhosis with complications like bleeding, fluid buildup, or confusion
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
