Who can take part

  • Age 40–75 years
  • Smoking history of at least 10 pack-years (roughly 1 pack per day for 10 years, or equivalent)
  • Lung function test results showing early impairment (FEV1/FVC between 0.7–0.8, and FEV1 less than 80% predicted)
  • At least one ongoing breathing symptom like cough, phlegm, or shortness of breath for 3+ months
  • Ability to use an inhaler correctly and attend follow-up visits for 12 weeks
  • No diagnosis of asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, or other serious lung or heart conditions
