Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older and admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU)
  • You must be at risk for sepsis due to conditions like existing infections, recent procedures, or invasive tubes/catheters
  • You must be willing to wear two small sensor devices on your skin for the duration of your ICU stay
  • Your ICU stay must be expected to last at least 6 hours
  • Your skin where the sensors attach must be intact—no tattoos, open wounds, scars, or infections in that area
  • You cannot already have been diagnosed with sepsis at the time you join the study
