Who can take part
- You smoke at least 10 cigarettes per day and have been smoking for more than 5 years
- You have been diagnosed with advanced gum disease (Stage III or IV periodontitis)
- You have at least 20 of your own natural teeth (not counting wisdom teeth)
- You have specific areas of gum disease with deep pockets measuring 6mm or more
- You have not taken antibiotics in the last 3 months
- You have not had any gum disease treatment in the last 6 months
