Who can take part
- You have type 2 diabetes managed by a doctor
- Protein in your urine (measured as ACR ≥30 mg/g) and kidney function still adequate (eGFR ≥25)
- You've been taking an ACE inhibitor or ARB blood-pressure drug for at least 4 weeks at the highest dose you can tolerate
- Your blood pressure is controlled (systolic 90–160 mmHg, diastolic ≤100 mmHg)
- Your blood sugar (HbA1C) is below 11% and your potassium level is normal or low-normal (≤4.8)
- You have no recent urinary tract infections, fever, liver disease, or Addison's disease
