Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for heart surgery with a specific type (coronary artery bypass via median sternotomy with internal mammary artery harvesting)
  • This is your first sternotomy (breastbone surgery)—you have not had this type of surgery before
  • You are not currently taking strong opioids or neuropathic pain medications regularly
  • You do not have severe cognitive impairment that would prevent you from completing a questionnaire
  • You are not under legal protection or guardianship
