Who can take part
- Age 18–75 years old
- Confirmed advanced solid tumor (cancer that has spread), most commonly squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (mouth, throat, or voice box)
- Good overall health status (able to care for yourself with minimal assistance)
- At least one tumor that can be measured by imaging scans
- Normal or near-normal blood counts, liver and kidney function
- Not pregnant or nursing; willing to use birth control for 6 months after treatment ends
