- You are between 18 and 55 years old.
- You have a cavity on the side of a permanent back tooth, near the gum line, but it does not cause pain.
- You keep your teeth fairly clean (no major plaque buildup).
- The tooth with the cavity is not loose (no more than very slight movement).
- You don't grind or clench your teeth and don't have jaw joint problems.
