Who can take part

  • Age 18–75 years old
  • Diagnosed skin infection with wound area between 4–225 cm² (roughly the size of a postage stamp to a playing card)
  • Infection is on the skin surface only, not deep in tissues, and doesn't need surgery
  • Bacteria confirmed in wound samples that resist common antibiotics or don't respond to them
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding, and willing to use contraception if able to become pregnant
  • Not currently taking steroids, immunosuppressants, chemotherapy, or other drugs that weaken immunity
