Who can take part

  • You are 25 years old or younger
  • You have a newly diagnosed melanoma or similar atypical skin tumor (not yet treated with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, or surgery beyond the initial biopsy)
  • Your tumor is only in the skin—no signs of spread to lymph nodes or other body parts on physical exam
  • You are in good enough health to participate (your doctor will assess this)
  • You have not had re-excision surgery or sentinel lymph node biopsy for this specific tumor yet
  • You do not have certain genetic conditions or prior genetic variants linked to melanoma risk
