Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have kidney stones or proximal ureteral stones (stones in the upper part of the tube from kidney to bladder) that need surgery
  • Your surgery is scheduled to be percutaneous nephrolithotomy or a miniaturized version (Mini-PCNL, Ultra-mini PCNL, Super-mini PCNL, or Micro-PCNL)
  • You do not have an active, untreated urinary tract infection or sepsis (life-threatening infection) at the time of surgery
  • You do not have uncorrected severe bleeding disorders
  • Your complete medical records and follow-up information must be available
