- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled for surgery or a procedure requiring general anesthesia (sleep medication)
- You can understand and speak German well enough to give informed consent
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You do not currently take opioids (strong pain medications like morphine or codeine) or have not stopped taking them within the past month
- You do not have severe heart, lung, or uncontrolled seizure conditions that would make this study risky for you
