- First pregnancy (never been pregnant before)
- Between 20–34 weeks pregnant (roughly 5–8 months along)
- Score 38 or higher on a fear-of-childbirth screening questionnaire
- Healthy pregnancy with one baby (not high-risk or multiple births)
- Never taken a childbirth preparation class before
- Speak Turkish fluently and able to understand study questions
