Cesium implant radiation for recurrent cervical or uterine cancer

Who can take part

  • Confirmed vaginal recurrence of cervical or endometrial cancer (cancer came back in the vagina after previous treatment)
  • Previous pelvic radiation therapy for your original cancer
  • Cancer that can be seen on imaging (CT, MRI, or physical exam) and measures at least 1 cm
  • Good overall health status (able to perform daily activities with minimal assistance)
  • No other active cancers or recent cancer diagnosis in the past 3 years (except skin cancer or in-situ cervical/bladder cancer)
  • No spread to lymph nodes or distant organs at the time of enrollment
