Who can take part

  • Age 18–35 years
  • Unilateral shoulder pain (one side only) lasting at least 3 months
  • Physician-confirmed rotator cuff problem (subacromial impingement, bursitis, tendinopathy, or partial tear) with imaging (MRI or ultrasound)
  • Specific pain and movement findings on clinical exam (painful arc, positive impingement tests, pain with resisted movements)
  • Moderately active lifestyle (score of 5+ on the Tegner Activity Level Scale)
