Who can take part
- Ages 18–65 and healthy weight (BMI 18–32)
- Chronic hepatitis B confirmed for at least 6 months with no prior antiviral drugs
- Liver function tests show mild inflammation (ALT less than 3 times normal)
- No serious liver damage (cirrhosis or advanced scarring)
- No other major infections, liver diseases, or cancers in the past 5 years
- Not pregnant, not on immunosuppressive medications, and willing to use effective contraception
