- Be at least 18 years old
- Have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease (MASLD)
- Not drink a lot of alcohol (more than 20-30 grams per day)
- Not have other liver diseases like hepatitis B or C, autoimmune hepatitis, Wilson's disease, hemochromatosis, or drug-induced liver injury
- Not have an active infection or ongoing inflammatory condition
- Not be pregnant or have cancer
