How a Single Antibiotic Dose Affects Male Fertility

Who can take part

  • You are a man aged 18–45 years old in good overall health
  • You have normal hormone levels (FSH, LH, testosterone) and healthy sperm samples with good concentration, volume, motility, and shape
  • You have never been diagnosed with male fertility problems, testicular disease, or had testicular surgery or radiation
  • You do not have a current or recent sexually transmitted infection, and will test negative for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and gonorrhea
  • You have not taken hormone medications, testosterone, steroids, or certain other drugs in the past 3 months that affect sperm or hormones
  • You agree to use reliable birth control with female partners for 3 months after taking the study drug and to provide semen samples throughout the trial
