Pirfenidone and immunotherapy with optional radiation for advanced colorectal cancer

This study tests a combination of three treatments—pirfenidone (an anti-scarring drug), a PD-1 inhibitor (an immunotherapy that helps your immune system fight cancer), and sometimes radiation—for colorectal cancer that has stopped responding to standard treatments. Who can take part

  • Confirmed colorectal cancer that is advanced or has spread, with a specific genetic marker (MSS or pMMR status)
  • Cancer has progressed despite standard treatment, or you are unable to tolerate or access standard options
  • Age between 18 and 75 years old
  • Blood work, liver function, kidney function, and clotting tests must be within safe ranges (tests done within 7 days before starting)
  • Good overall health and ability to perform daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1)
  • No active brain tumors, seizures, spinal cord compression, or serious heart/lung disease
