Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with lung cancer and are scheduled to have a lobectomy (surgery to remove part of your lung)
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are in stable medical condition and able to participate in breathing exercises and tests
  • You do not have a history of previous chest wall or thoracic surgery
  • You do not have severe heart failure or severe COPD (chronic lung disease) that could affect how your lungs respond to breathing exercises
  • You do not have orthopedic (bone/joint) or neurological (nerve/brain) problems that prevent you from walking
