- You are 18–75 years old and have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (a common type of lung cancer)
- You are scheduled for lung surgery to remove part or all of one lung lobe using minimally invasive techniques
- Your lungs have expanded well after surgery and your chest tube has been removed or is not leaking
- You can use a smartphone on your own or with help from a caregiver to record your exercises
- Your home is safe for you to do breathing exercises without medical supervision
- You do not have severe heart or lung problems that would make breathing exercises unsafe
