Who can take part

  • You have measurable GIST that is locally advanced, recurrent, or metastatic (spread to distant sites)
  • If your cancer has spread distantly, you must have already tried and failed standard drug treatments like imatinib or sunitinib
  • You must be 18–75 years old and in good enough health to tolerate treatment (ECOG performance status 0 or 1)
  • Your blood counts and organ function must meet specific minimums (checked by lab tests)
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding, and must use birth control for 4 months after treatment
  • You must be HIV-negative and free of hepatitis B and C infections
