Who can take part

  • You had a stroke at least 6 months ago
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • This was your first stroke
  • You have some increased muscle tone in your arm (rated as 2 or 3 on a scale called Modified Ashworth Scale)
  • You can think clearly (score 24 or higher on a thinking test)
  • You can move your shoulder at least 120 degrees
  • You can walk on your own or with a cane or walker
  • You have not had botox in your arm in the last 3 months
  • You have not had physical therapy for stroke in the last 6 months
