  • You are scheduled for a major orthopedic surgery (like a hip or knee replacement, fracture repair, or spine surgery).
  • You do not need another surgery within 30 days after this one.
  • You do not have a weakened immune system from illness or medications.

  • You must be able to follow the study's medication schedule before, during, and after surgery.
