Who can take part
- You have cirrhosis that has caused complications like bleeding in your digestive tract, confusion, or fluid in your belly.
- Your liver function score (MELD) is 15 or higher, or you have cirrhosis rated as Child-Pugh class B or C.
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You get your regular liver care at Vanderbilt in Nashville or UT Southwestern in Dallas.
- You do not have serious heart or lung disease, or active alcohol use.
