Who can take part
- You are between 30 and 80 years old
- You were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the last 5 years
- Your diabetes medicines have been the same for at least 8 weeks
- Your A1C (average blood sugar) is between 6.5% and 9.5% if you're not on any diabetes drug, or 6.5%–8.0% if on 1-2 drugs, or 6.5%–7.5% if on basal insulin
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 23 or higher
- You can check your own blood sugar or wear a continuous monitor, have a telephone, and understand English
