Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for planned (non-emergency) surgery on an arm or leg
  • You are an adult over 18 years old
  • You will have general anesthesia or sedation for your surgery
  • You are not allergic to certain pain medications (like ibuprofen, morphine, or ropivacaine)
  • You do not take strong painkillers (opioids) regularly
  • You do not have serious kidney, liver, or bleeding problems
