Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for a planned (non-emergency) spinal fusion surgery on your lower back, mid-back, or tailbone area.
  • This is your first spinal fusion surgery (you haven't had this surgery before).
  • You are not currently taking antibiotics and haven't taken any in the last 14 days.
  • You do not have any allergies to the products used in the study.
  • You do not have any signs of infection near your spine or a current systemic infection.
