Who can take part
- You have a type of cancer called adenocarcinoma in the upper stomach or where the stomach meets the esophagus (Siewert type II or III).
- Your cancer is locally advanced (has spread into deeper layers or nearby lymph nodes) but has not spread to distant organs.
- You have not had any previous chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy for this cancer.
- You are in good overall health, able to care for yourself, and your major organs (like heart, liver, kidneys, and blood counts) work well.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You are willing to use birth control during the study and for 4 months after, if needed.
