This study tests a device called cueStim to see if it can help people with Parkinson’s disease who experience freezing of gait (a sudden inability to move their feet). You may be able to join if you are between 60 and 90 years old, take levodopa, and can walk a short distance without help.

Who can take part

  • You are between 60 and 90 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson’s disease by a doctor
  • You can walk at least 12 meters (about 40 feet) without a walking aid (a cane is okay in daily life)
  • You are taking levodopa and have not changed your Parkinson’s medications in the last 4 weeks
  • You score at least 22 on a thinking and memory test called MoCA
  • You have not used a cueing device (like a rhythmic beeper or vibration device) in the past 3 months
