Studying a cell signal in brain AVM tissue after surgery

Brain Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs)

This trial is studying a cell signal called "Shh" in brain AVMs (a tangle of abnormal blood vessels). If you are having brain surgery to remove an AVM, researchers will use a small piece of leftover tissue to learn more about how AVMs form and grow, which could lead to better treatments.
