Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a planned (not emergency) C-section.
  • Your pregnancy is at full term (at least 37 weeks).
  • You are between 18 and 45 years old.
  • You do not have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, nerve problems, or eye disease.
  • You have not had a failed spinal block in the past.
