Who can take part
- You must have colorectal cancer that has not been treated before and is locally advanced (spread nearby but not to distant organs).
- You must be 18 or older and have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
- You must be in good enough health to undergo surgery after the treatment. Your organs (bone marrow, liver, kidneys, blood clotting) must work well enough.
- You cannot have had any prior cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy.
- You cannot have certain other medical conditions like active infections, autoimmune diseases, or a history of other cancers in the past 5 years.
- You cannot be pregnant or planning to become pregnant, and you must use effective birth control during and for 6 months after treatment.
