Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You need elective lumbar spine surgery for degenerative disc disease or related conditions
  • You have had an MRI with contrast within the last 6 months
  • You have had standard blood tests within the last 30 days
  • You can complete Spanish-language questionnaires about mood and pain
  • You agree to follow-up for 12 months after surgery
