You may be asked to complete online questionnaires, and the study uses your answers to understand symptoms and outcomes after surgery.

Who can take part
- You are scheduled for planned (elective) lower-back surgery
- Your diagnosis involves a wear-and-tear lower-back problem (like a bulging/herniated disc, spinal narrowing, or a slip of a vertebra)
- An MRI scan confirms your lower-back problem
- You can speak and read Dutch
- You can complete online questionnaires when your doctor asks
- Your surgery type is one of these: laminectomy, microscopic discectomy, endoscopic discectomy, or spondylodesis (spinal fusion)
