Lower dose bone-growth protein for dental implants
Treatments studied
Part of Mouth & dental clinical trials.
This trial tests if a smaller amount of a bone-growth protein (BMP-2) placed around a new dental implant in the lower jaw can improve implant stability and reduce bone loss, compared to the standard dose. You might benefit if you need a single implant for a missing back tooth and are generally healthy.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

This study tests a new way to grow bone around dental implants using your own bone chips and a special growth factor. It may help dental implants integrate better and last longer.
This study tests a bone-grafting approach (using processed donor bone particles, with or without a growth factor) to help dental implants work when the jaw bone is too narrow. It may help people get implants placed more safely and effectively in areas with missing teeth.
This study compares two types of bone-graft materials used to rebuild the bone after a tooth is removed, so that a dental implant can be placed right away. If successful, this could mean fewer surgeries and faster recovery for people who need a single tooth replaced.
This trial compares two ways of placing a dental implant and bone graft to see which heals better. It may be an option if you need a single implant and have a small bone defect around the front of the implant.
This trial tests if adding parathyroid hormone to a bone graft improves bone growth in the upper jaw before placing dental implants. It may help people who have lost teeth and have very little bone in the sinus area.
This study tests a new injectable gel containing BMP-2 (a growth-promoting protein) to help regrow bone lost due to advanced gum disease. If your gum disease has caused significant bone loss, this treatment might help restore that bone and save your tooth.
