  • You are between 30 and 50 years old.
  • You are overweight or obese (body mass index between 25 and 35).
  • You have type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c level of 6.5% or more.
  • You are not currently using insulin injections.
  • You do not have serious liver disease, kidney disease, or active cancer.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or unable to use reliable birth control.
