Who can take part
- You have had breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) and will start radiation within 12 weeks.
- You are 40 years or older and in good enough health to have a performance status of 0, 1, or 2.
- If you have invasive breast cancer, your tumor was 3 cm or smaller, and lymph nodes were cancer-free with clear surgical margins.
- If you have ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), your tumor was 3 cm or smaller, and margins were at least 2 mm.
- You must be able to lie on your stomach (prone) for the treatment and have no serious skin issues, claustrophobia, or heart implant devices.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have a known BRCA1/2 gene mutation.
