MRI of Bile Ducts in Living Liver Donors

Who can take part

  • You must be a healthy adult between 18 and 55 years old.
  • You must be considering donating part of your liver to someone else.
  • You should not have certain unusual blood vessel patterns (Type C or D portal vein branches).
  • Your gallbladder must be in its normal position on the right side.
  • You should not be donating a specific piece called the 'right posterior graft'.
  • The person receiving your liver should not need a special bile duct reconnection surgery.
