Lowering water flow during dialysis: safe or not?

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have been on dialysis for more than 3 months
  • You have dialysis 3 times per week, for 4 hours each time
  • Your dialysis access works well (fistula or catheter) and your blood flow is above 300 mL per minute
  • You produce very little urine (less than 500 mL each day)
  • You receive hemodialysis or hemodiafiltration (not hemofiltration)
