This trial tests whether removing extra fluid during your regular dialysis sessions can help lower high blood pressure and reduce symptoms of fluid buildup. You'll continue your normal three-times-a-week dialysis but with adjusted fluid removal amounts.

Who can take part

  • You have been receiving dialysis three times per week at a dialysis center for at least 4 weeks
  • You have high blood pressure (systolic ≥140 mmHg on three checks) or symptoms of fluid buildup, like shortness of breath or swelling
  • You are not planning to switch to home dialysis or get a kidney transplant in the next 3 months
  • You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or major bleeding in the past 90 days
  • You are able to complete a 6-minute walk test and a 24-hour blood pressure monitor
  • You are not on chemotherapy or radiation, and do not have cirrhosis with fluid in your belly
