Q Angle and BMI Effects on Balance in Children with Spastic Diplegia

This study looks at how the angle of the hip to knee (Q angle) and body mass index (BMI) affect balance in children with spastic diplegia (a type of cerebral palsy that mainly affects the legs). Who can take part

  • Your child should be between 6 and 10 years old.
  • They must be taller than 1 meter (about 3 feet 3 inches).
  • Their muscle tightness (spasticity) should be grade 1 or 1+ on a scale used by doctors.
  • They should be able to walk with little or no help (GMFCS levels 1 or 2).
  • They must be able to follow simple instructions.
  • They cannot have epilepsy, severe vision/hearing problems, or fixed joint deformities in the legs.
