Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 70 years old.
  • You are enrolled in Medicaid in South Carolina.
  • You can provide blood samples (about 5 tablespoons) and other samples.
  • You either have type 2 diabetes or a recent A1c of 6.5% or higher, OR you are a healthy control with A1c of 5.6% or lower and no diabetes diagnosis.
  • You are not pregnant, and you don't have certain health conditions like COPD, recent heart problems, or active cancer.
