  • You are between 18 and 55 years old
  • You have gum disease (periodontitis)
  • This is your first time getting gum treatment
  • You are willing to follow a diet with a set amount of caffeine
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
  • You have not had gum treatment in the last 6 months, do not smoke, and have no diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol
